Local companies on board with submarines

More than 1000 local businesses have registered an interest in taking part in Australia's future submarine program.
Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne says the list of what's needed to build the $50 billion submarines is long and includes everything from air-conditioning equipment to titanium parts.
"Maximising Australian industry's involvement in the future submarine program is vitally important to the construction and sustainment of the submarine fleet into the future," Mr Pyne said on Thursday.
