Libs want to end weekend go-slow
AAP
The South Australian Liberals want to stop 25 km/h speed restrictions being left in place around road works on weekends and after hours.
Opposition transport spokesman David Pisoni says speed restrictions around road works are designed to protect workers but when they have knocked off, there is rarely a valid reason for maintaining them.
Under his proposed changes to the Road Traffic Act, contractors who leave restriction signs out will face a $5000 fine.
