Internet scam robs elderly SA woman

An elderly woman in South Australia has been cheated out of a large sum of money by scammers who pretended to represent a retail outlet, ANZ bank security and a police officer.

The scammers spent six days approaching the Adelaide woman in July telling her someone was trying to infiltrate her bank account.

She was eventually tricked into transferring money into a London bank account, police say.
