Interconnectors as important as roads: SA

Interconnectors that move electricity between states are as vital as highways and there should be more of them, South Australia's energy minister says.

Australia's energy ministers are meeting in Canberra on Friday, led by federal minister Josh Frydenberg, to discuss reforming the national electricity market.

SA minister Tom Koutsantonis told ABC radio on Friday he thinks it would be a "wise investment" to build more interconnectors, and that the commonwealth should play some role in that process.
