Heater spark causes fire

A spark from an unattended wood heater has caused $150,000 worth of damage to a house in Adelaide's north.

Crews managed to restrict the Evanston Park blaze to the lounge room and roof, a Metropolitan Fire Service spokeswoman told AAP on Wednesday night.

"A spark from an indoor wood heater in the lounge room has caused the fire. The door had been left open and unattended," she said.

The owner attempted to put the blaze out himself but it quickly got out of control, the MFS say.
