Homeless on bail to get own SA facility

Alleged offenders who are granted bail in South Australia but lack suitable accommodation could soon be housed in the community.

The state government and Anglicare will develop a 30-bed facility in Adelaide to prevent those released on bail from having to remain in prison.

Corrections Minister Tony Piccolo says judges will have the discretion to decide which offenders are placed in the building, which will be staffed around the clock by Anglicare workers.
