A 42-year-old Adelaide man is facing a murder charge over the death of another man, as police drop the case against three former co-accused.

Mahommed Mansoor, 39, was found dead at the Penfield Gardens house on March 3 with three men charged with his murder.

Police arrested a 42-year-old on Tuesday night and charge him over the killing.

He was refused police bail and was due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Following his arrest, police dropped charges against three other men aged 34, 44 and 48, who were also arrested.

"While it would be inappropriate to say anything further at this time, police can confirm they are satisfied they have been able to prove that allegations made against the three men were false," police said in a statement.
