Former SA bikie refused bail

A former Mongols bikie has been refused bail for allegedly threatening to kill a woman while trying to claim a $30,000 debt.

Mark Andrew Sandery has been charged with threatening to kill or endanger life in relation to the incident in Adelaide last year.

Prosecutors have told the Adelaide Magistrates Court that the alleged victim continues to fear for her safety and is worried about reprisals for reporting Sandery to police.

Defence counsel said the case against Sandery was weak and police and prosecutors had got the facts wrong.

But Magistrate Sue O'Connor said it would be unacceptable for him to be released on bail and remanded Sandery in custody to appear in court again on March 23.
