Firies launch car rally into SA outback
AAP
Firefighters will travel through bushfire devastated areas and into South Australia's outback to raise money for the families of volunteers who were killed, injured or lost homes in the line of duty.
The CFS hopes to sign up 50 teams - including everyone from chief executives to families and retirees - for its first ever Fire Trail car rally through to the lower Flinders Ranges in September.
"CFS volunteers are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ready to support their brigades and protect life, property and communities," Fire Trail Taskforce chair Kristian Appelt said ahead of the launch in Adelaide on Tuesday.
