Fifth murder charge over SA drug death

A fifth person is expected to be charged over a drug-related murder in Adelaide five weeks ago.

The Murray Bridge man, 31, was arrested on Monday afternoon in his home town after a 46-year-old man was killed in a suburban Para Vista home on October 9, police say.

Police allege that by the time they discovered the body on October 12, a cannabis crop had been stolen from the property.

The 31-year-old is expected to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Three other men aged 23, 31 and 35 and a 20-year-old woman have also been charged.

The oldest man, Aaron Donald Carver, was arrested in Queensland before facing Adelaide Magistrates Court.

The court was told a discarded cigarette butt was used to link Carver to the killing, providing a preliminary DNA match.

He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to return to court on March 20.
