Three cats killed in accident SA fire

An Adelaide man has escaped a house fire that killed three cats and has been deemed an accident.

The Metropolitan Fire Service says it believes the blaze at a Munno Para home on Wednesday morning was caused by an electrical issue near a television.

A man woke up to the fire when a smoke detector went off and tried to fight it before fleeing as the flames spread. He was treated for smoke inhalation.

Three cats were lost in the flames but a kitten believed to belong to the man was rescued outside the home, which has been left with about $150,000 in damage.
