Drug crop found in SA house hit by fire

A hydroponic cannabis crop has been found in a house severely damaged by fire north of Adelaide.

The fire broke out at the Sandy Creek property just before dawn on Thursday and the drugs were found after fire crews extinguished the blaze.

A 32-year-old man who lived at the home is currently helping detectives with their inquiries, South Australia police say.

The man was later charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis and with possessing prescribed equipment.

He was granted police bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
