Drink-driver had expired learner's permit

A man has been caught drink-driving on an expired learner's permit in the Adelaide Hills.

The 26-year-old recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.166, and was reported for drinking driving and driving without a licence early on Tuesday afternoon, police say.

He lost his licence for 12 months and will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.
