Car stolen from SA shipping container

A distinctive and high-powered race car has been stolen from a shipping container in Adelaide.

Thieves cut through a chain mesh fence in the city's south and broke into the locked container before making off with the Nissan Skyline.

The car was stolen sometime during last weekend with the thieves probably using a trailer to remove it, police said on Tuesday.

The Skyline is not registered and sports a black bonnet and purple roll cage.
