Axeman threatens post office staff in SA

A man has threatened staff with an axe at a post office in Adelaide's west.

Wearing a balaclava, the intruder entered the Henley Beach South post office just after 4pm on Monday but ran out empty-handed.

Police say he left with a second man in a white Holden Commodore, which was reported stolen from Morphett Vale, in the state's south, on Sunday night.

The incident follows staff at a delicatessen threatened by a man wielding a gun in Hackham on Sunday.
