Armed man attempts carjacking in Adelaide

An Adelaide woman has fought off an armed man who tried to steal her car while she was sitting behind the wheel.

The failed thief grabbed the woman, threatened her with a metal object and demanded her keys as she sat in her parked car in inner-city Walkerville on Thursday night.

The driver pushed him away and locked herself in the car while he fled, police say.
