Adelaide man's murder charge dropped

A murder charge has been dropped against an Adelaide man over the death of a 38-year-old in the city's north last year.

Prosecutors told Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday they would not be proceeding with the case against Daniel Robert Bampton over the stabbing death of Ashley White.

It was previously alleged Mr White died during a scuffle while Bampton claimed to have acted in self-defence.
