Investigation after 'intense' fire devastates Adelaide home

Police are investigating how a house burst into flames at Parafield Gardens earlier this week.

Neighbours filmed the inferno as it spread to a tree and threatened surrounding properties.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but witnesses have told 9News a man and woman were seen running along the street in different directions moments before the blaze.

Dario Nguyen, a neighbour, sprang into action, attempting to combat the flames with his garden hose.

"It was intense, inside it was just glowing red and then it quickly spread to the tree there," he said.

Another neighbour quickly contacted emergency services, dialling triple zero at about 9pm on Wednesday. 

Police are seeking information regarding the two people observed fleeing the area prior to the fire. 

Investigations into what caused the blaze are continuing.
