SA siege accused still in hospital

A man remains in hospital after he was shot by police during an alleged break-in and 11-hour siege at an Adelaide real estate agency.

Parts of Adelaide's CBD was closed off and heavily armed tactical response police surrounded the East Terrace real estate agency after two men were spotted on its roof on Saturday morning.

Police were negotiating with the men before shots were fired on the roof at about five hours into the drama.

One of the men, 41, of Northfield, was shot once in the left upper chest.

He is under police guard in the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition.

The man is expected to have a hospital bedside hearing on Monday over charges including aggravated serious criminal trespass, possessing a loaded firearm and possessing a proscribed firearm, a South Australia police spokesman said.

The second man, also 41, of Kilburn, was arrested while hiding inside the building at about 4.30pm on Saturday.

He also faces charges including aggravated serious criminal trespass, possessing a loaded firearm and possessing a proscribed firearm.

He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
