All seven puppies returned to Adelaide home after alleged theft

All seven puppies allegedly stolen from a family home in Adelaide have been returned to their relieved owners.

A 37-year-old man allegedly broke in and took the seven Staffordshire-terrier-Pitbull-cross puppies and other belongings from a home on Lyle Street in Morphett Vale between 4pm on April 13 and 5pm on April 14.

He was arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass and theft.

After a four-day police investigation, all seven puppies have returned home.

One of the breeders of the puppies, Tabatha Agius, said it was a tough time while they were missing.

"It's been restless nights and tossing and turning just hoping that we'd have all of them home because if we just received two or something back we'd always wonder where the rest of them went and if they're ok," Ms Agius said.

The 37-year-old man from Christies Beach is accused of selling the dogs for $200 each.

The owners are now focusing on replacing some of the other items stolen from their home.

"We lost $13,000 of our stuff plus family and friends' stuff," Joshua Jackson said.

"Anything will help and just get us back to where we were."

All seven puppies have been accounted for but Ms Agius and Mr Jackson let one of the buyers keep their pooch.

A home at Christies Beach was searched on Saturday morning and two of the puppies were found.

A third puppy was handed into the local police station about 4pm and returned to the owner.

The rest of the puppies were found on Sunday night, SA Police said.

The 37-year-old was bailed and will appear at court next month.
