Bus driver uses fire extinguisher to fend off offenders after attack outside Melbourne shopping centre
A heroic bus driver used a fire extinguisher to rescue a teenager who was being assaulted by two people outside a shopping centre in Melbourne's south-east last night.
Police believe the 19-year-old victim was sitting at a bus stop on Stud Road in Rowville when the attack occurred around 9.30pm.
The two attackers were believed to be armed with a baton and knife.

A bus driver stopped nearby and intervened in the attack to help the teenage boy.
Police said he held his fire extinguisher towards the offenders before they fled the scene in a silver BMW.
The 19-year-old Rowville boy was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
He did not cooperate with police.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
