Man charged with murder of three-year-old boy in Sydney

A man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a three-year-old boy to death in Sydney's south.

The pair was found at a Riverwood apartment on Wednesday.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 45-year-old man was taken to St George Hospital to undergo emergency surgery, where he currently remains under police guard.

NSW Police said tonight that the man had been charged with murder.

He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court via audio-video link tomorrow.
