Popular ricotta pulled off shelves over potential E. Coli contamination
An immediate recall is being conducted of a popular ricotta product over fears of an E. coli contamination.
La Vera is conducting a recall of its 500g Fresh Ricotta due to a potential E. coli contamination. The product is sold at independent retailers across South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia and NSW.
Products with the following date markings may be at risk of contamination:
- 28 February 2026
- 4 March 2026
- 5 March 2026
- 6 March 2026

Food products contaminated with E.coli may cause illness if consumed. Food Standards
Consumers are being advised not to consume the product and to either dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
