Two men critically injured following serious crash on Melbourne's West Gate Freeway

Two men have been critically injured after a speeding car smashed into a Vinnies truck, causing it to rollover on the West Gate Bridge in Melbourne.

Police have now reopened all outbound lanes of the bridge after a Ford Falcon XR6 collided with a truck at 10.35am near Williamstown Road.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Wyndham Vale man, was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A male passenger of the car was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Police arrested three men aged in their 20s, who also were in the car at the scene after the vehicle was suspected of being stolen.

Police say the vehicle was displaying false registration plates.

The men have been released pending further enquiries.

The driver of the truck and the passenger were not injured.

Police say the exact circumstances of the collision are yet to be determined.
