The Royal Australian Air Force has taken delivery of its first EA-18G Growler aircraft.

Australia will be the first nation outside the United States to fly the combat aircraft, which is derived from the F/A-18F Super Hornet.

Former air force chief Air Marshal Geoff Brown described it as the "final piece of the air power jigsaw puzzle" for the RAAF, which will take possession of all 12 aircraft by the end of 2017.
