Man charged after alleged 10-hour Queensland siege
A man has been charged in Queensland after allegedly threatening bystanders and locking himself in a property for 10 hours, armed with what appeared to be a crossbow.
Police were forced to close several surrounding streets near the house in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, triggering a Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) emergency warning.

Police were called to the incident on Arnhem Street around 4pm yesterday afternoon.
This morning, at around 2.30 am, the siege came to a peaceful end, with the 46-year-old man surrendering to police.
He was taken to hospital for assessment shortly after.

This afternoon, the man was charged with threatening violence, willful damage and seriously assaulting police.
He will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow.
