Woman remanded over husband's Qld murder

A 36-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband in the chest during an altercation in their Brisbane home will likely spend Christmas behind bars.

Katie Ann Corben was remanded in custody following her first appearance in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Police allege she murdered Jarred Paul Castel, 35, during an argument in their Chapel Hill home about 9pm on Wednesday.

A four-year-old boy, understood to be the couple's son, was inside at the time but did not witness the incident.

He is now being cared for by family.

Corben is scheduled to face court again on January 29.
