Woman falls down Gold Coast cliff after car crash

A woman has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital after she fell about 70 metres down a cliff following a car accident north west of the Gold Coast this morning.

The woman is understood to have been driving on Tamborine Oxenford Road at Wongawallan about 7.30am before the car rolled.

Communication was established with the woman just before 10am after emergency services spent hours trying to locate her.

The Rescue 500 helicopter with a critical care paramedic are currently on scene, with the paramedic being winched down 70m to assess the woman.

The Rescue 500 helicopter with a critical care paramedic flew to the scene, with the paramedic being winched down 70 metres to assess the woman.

The woman has reportedly sustained an arm injury but appears to be in a stable condition. She has been transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
