How a hip-hop video in a Brisbane bar turned deadly

WHAT HAPPENED - An actor in his 20s was killed when hit by shrapnel after several firearms were discharged during a film clip being produced for Sydney hip-hop trio Bliss N Eso on Monday afternoon.

WHERE - the filming for the popular track Friend Like You was taking place at the Brisbane underground bar Brooklyn Standard on Eagle Lane, near the busy Riverside-Eagle St precinct in the CBD. The bar had been rented out for out-of-hours shooting

HOW - it remains unclear whether live rounds were meant to have been used but police say it will be a key part of their criminal investigation. A nearby construction worker says he heard three gunshots around 2pm

WHO - none of the three band-members from Bliss N Eso, ARIA winners in 2008 for Best Urban Album, were on site at the time. They had advertised for actors from southeast Queensland to take part in the video shot this week and are due to tour nationally next month.
