Vigil held for Qld murdered mother

A candelight vigil has been held and a "human wall" built around the family of murdered Gold Coast woman Teresa Bradford.

More than 70 people responded to an online invitation to the event, where attendees were invited to wear purple - Ms Bradford's favourite colour - and walk as a group to her home in Pimpana.

The mother of four was killed by her estranged husband David Bradford on Tuesday, two weeks after he was granted bail over an attack in November in which she was choked and bashed.

Images on Facebook showed lines of candles outside Ms Bradford's home on Sunday night.

"On the 31st Of January, the Pimpama community lost a beautiful soul to a terrible act of DV," the Facebook event page read.

"Our thoughts are with all those affected and we wish nothing but the best for her family and friends."

Meanwhile, Queensland's opposition has proposed legislation for an "alert system" for victims of domestic violence, who would be notified if their alleged attacker applies for bail or parole, ABC reported.
