Truck driver charged after horror crash
A truck driver has been charged with causing a horror three-vehicle crash that left two people in a critical condition in Queensland's Darling Downs.
A 65-year-old man and 89-year-old woman were airlifted to hospital on Thursday afternoon after their sedan collided with an oncoming truck on the Cunningham Highway near Warwick.
Police say a truck rear-ended the pair's car as they were looking to turn at an intersection, forcing it into the path of an oncoming truck.
They have charged a 58-year-old Victorian truck driver with two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
He will face Warwick Magistrates Court on April 13.
Paramedics performed life-saving CPR at the scene on one of the crash victims who suffered a heart attack.
A third person suffered minor injuries, with QAS Toowoomba senior operations supervisor Brad Setch describing the scene as "horrific".
