Man dies 10 days after being hit by trail bike rider

Police are hunting for a trail bike rider who fled after knocking over an elderly man as he walked on a path in the Queensland city of Gladstone.

The 77-year-old was hit in suburban Kin Kora about 5pm on August 31. He was treated in hospital and released but died ten days later. Police are investigating if the hit-run incident contributed to his death.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the rider on a blue trail bike hit the man on a path that runs between Emmadale Drive and the soccer field at the end of Pioneer Drive.
