Call for witnesses after woman, 55, found dead in her front yard

Mystery surrounds the death of a Toowoomba woman who was found dead in her front yard.

Police are appealing for the public's help to figure out what happened to 55-year-old Leanne Falkingham, who was found near her home in Harristown, about 125 kilometres west of Brisbane, yesterday afternoon.

A man has been questioned by police and released.

Detective Inspector Paula Smithard said the property was on a busy thoroughfare and police were calling for anyone "who may have seen or heard anything in the area of Buckland Street around the time of the incident to come forward".

Smithard said police were unsure of the timeframe of the woman's death, and had not yet ruled it as as suspicious or non-suspicious.

"A 49-year-old Harristown man was initially assisting police with their enquiries but has since been released," police said.
