Tigerair flight makes emergency stop in Brisbane

A Tigerair flight made an emergency landing in Brisbane after an "odour" was detected in the cabin.

The Cairns-bound flight was met by emergency services when it landed safely at Brisbane Domestic airport just after 2pm.

Tigerair said the captain made the decision to divert as a precautionary measure in accordance with standard operating procedures.

"All passengers and crew are safely disembarking the aircraft at the gate," the spokesperson told nine.com.au

"The safety and wellbeing of our customers and team members is always our highest priority."

The flight departed from Sydney about an hour earlier.

All crew will undergo a medical check.
