Shooting sparks Brisbane manhunt

A Brisbane man fled in terror when two balaclava-clad assailants threatened him and began shooting at his house.

A manhunt is underway for the men, who used a sawn-off rifle to fire several shots during a 3am confrontation at a home in suburban Rochedale.

One of the shots went through the front door of the home.

The men opened fire after making threats against a man who lived there.

"He fled, fearing for his safety. Subsequent to this several shots were fired," Inspector Daniel Bragg told the ABC.

"Police are treating this matter very seriously."

Police said the attack was not random.

Officers are searching for a four-wheel drive driven by the two men, and are interviewing witnesses as the manhunt continues.
