Shorten may back Brisbane 2028 Olympic bid

Opposition leader Bill Shorten has stopped short of endorsing a Brisbane bid for the 2028 Olympics Games, saying he'd like to see what the city is offering.
Southeast Queensland Councils are yet to conduct a full feasibility study into the pros and cons of bidding for the Games, although Brisbane City Council is keen for the report to proceed.
"It's a very interesting idea and we will certainly look at it," Mr Shorten told reporters in Brisbane on Monday.
