Umbrellas should remain at the ready in southeast Queensland with showers forecast to continue dampening the coast.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Julian De Morton said some regions should expect about 10mm of rain with the weather drying up by the weekend.

Brisbane is also bracing for some colder nights with the mercury tipped to drop as low as 13C on Saturday.

Mr De Morton said the wintry weather was not unusual for Brisbane, which usually endures a dry June but is prone to storms around this time of year.
