A Schoolies reveller has been injured after plunging from a third floor balcony on the Gold Coast overnight.

The 17-year-old boy suffered a suspected broken arm in the fall.

Balcony safety has been a major focus for Gold Coast police in recent years, after a 17-year-old girl fell to her death during the school-leavers event in 2012.

Brisbane girl Isabelle Colman died after falling from a high-rise balcony at the Chevron Renaissance complex in Surfers Paradise.

Police have warned teens to avoid “balcony-hopping” between units and to be aware of the dangers of using alcohol and drugs when staying in high-rise buildings.
