Queenslanders warned about mystery powder

Members of the public have been warned to avoid contact with a mystery white powder after two one-kilogram parcels found washed up on Queensland beaches were tested by police.

The powder could be harmful to anyone who has contact with it and people should report the matter to the authorities if any further parcels are found, police said in a statement on Wednesday.

The first package was found at Bundaberg's Elliott Heads on December 21 and the second about 20 kilometres north at Mon Repos six days later.
