The missing boy was last seen near his home at Wallu, north-east of Gympie, in Queensland. 

A five-year-old boy has been found safe and well after going missing for more than seven hours in bushland in Queensland’s Gympie region.

Police were preparing to search through the night for the boy, shortly before he was found at about 6.20pm.

He went missing with his two pet dogs from a home at Rainbow Beach Rd, Wallu, at about 10.30am.

Officers used horses, trail bikes, dogs and helicopters to search the bushland, and were also assisted by SES personnel and members of the public.
