Queensland parents to cash in on free kindergarten, vouchers in 2024
Queensland parents can get their hands on $150 vouchers and free kindergarten for their children from today.
Kindergarten is now free for all children attending a government-approved centre 15 hours a week for 40 weeks of the year.
Those eligible must be at least four years old by June 30 in the year before attending prep.

"Free access to kindergarten means every child has equal access and opportunity for a strong start in the early years of learning," the Queensland government said on its website.
Those attending kindergarten for additional hours may also be able to claim part of the federal government's child care subsidy.
Parents and guardians can find which centres are government-approved by checking for the green "free kindergarten tick" or browsing the Free Kindy Finder

Just weeks later, the 10th round of the FairPlay vouchers will open from 9am on January 24 to be used towards government-registered sport and recreational programs.
Every child in the state from five to 17 years old is able to claim $150, which can be used for membership, registration or participation fees.
