Man charged after Queensland teen killed while waiting for roadside assistance
A man has been charged after a car struck a Queensland teenager waiting for roadside assistance last year.
The 17-year-old got out of his car and was waiting for help in the emergency stopping lane on the Bruce Highway in Palmview after his vehicle hit a guard rail on August 30, 2021.
A short time after 8pm another vehicle, heading in the same direction, struck the boy.

The teen died at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle as transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Yesterday Forensic Crash Unit investigator issued the alleged driver of the second vehicle, a 22-year-old Parkwood man, with at Notice To Appear (NTA) on one count each driving while relevant drug is present in blood or saliva and keeping to the left on a multi-lane road.

The driver of the vehicle will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 28.
