Community plans Christmas 'redo' after devastating December storms
Queensland residents smashed by storms over the festive period are planning a Christmas redo to lift spirits in the community.
Homes have been destroyed and thousands have been left without power across Logan, the Scenic Rim and the Gold Coast.
Energex has more than 1000 workers on the ground to restore power to all homes by the weekends, while the Australian Defence Force has been called in to bolster clean-up efforts.

Logan City Councillor Scott Bannan told radio station 4BC the Christmas event is planned for January 20.
"It won't be a massive thing, it's just for the community that are affected," he said.
"Let's re-do it again because we didn't get a good run at it.
"We're going to have the Rotary Club and Lions Club there... every local community group will be there... all local musicians... hopefully get their mind off it."
Bannan said residents have faced challenges in recent days as they start to get back on their feet.
"It's like groundhog day, you wake up and go, 'I haven't got power again'," he said.
"Let's re-do it and hopefully nothing else gets thrown at us this year."
