Quake detected off Queensland coast

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.4 has been detected in the Coral Sea off the Queensland city of Gladstone.
The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre said in a statement it had determined there was no tsunami threat to the Australian mainland or islands following the quake that hit at 1.31am today.

It said the quake was reported as being felt near Bundaberg.
