Qld voters will back One Nation: speaker

The major parties could be in for a shock when they see how Pauline Hanson's party performs at the next Queensland election, speaker and independent MP Peter Wellington says.

Mr Wellington says opinion polls may not accurately reflect how much support Senator Hanson's party will attract, and she's obviously gaining traction with voters unhappy with Labor and the Liberal National Party.

"Many people may not put up their hand and say they're going to publicly support Pauline's candidates. But from what I'm hearing, they certainly will at ballot boxes," Mr Wellington has told ABC radio on Tuesday.
