Qld teen charged over car crash death

A teenage driver has been charged over a crash that killed his 15-year-old passenger on the Gold Coast.
The 18-year-old driver survived critical injuries when his car ploughed into a ute at Oxenford on May 20, however, the boy, who was sitting in the back, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 23, 2019.
