Qld police officers stood down

A 36-year-old Queensland police officer has been stood down for criminal offences.

The suspension of the senior constable, from the central region, was also in relation to "serious discipline matters".

"In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have an undertaking to inform the public when an officer faces disciplinary processes involving stand down or suspension," police said in a statement.

Queensland police stressed the allegations were so far unsubstantiated.

On Saturday it was revealed a record number of officers had faced the same fate.

The number of officers sidelined has almost doubled in the past two years, from 14 to 27, News Corp Australia reported.

The allegations against the suspended officers have included domestic violence, excessive force, falsifying training records and drug possession.
