Qld police nab burglar who bit teen girl

Police have caught an intruder who allegedly bit a teenage girl during a violent struggle at a Brisbane home and charged him with torture.

Police say the 15-year-old was attacked on Monday afternoon when she disturbed a man who had broken into her South Brisbane home.

A violent struggle ensued, which left the girl with a bite wound on her hand, a cut to her mouth, bruising and abrasions to her neck and legs.

The man fled, sparking a police hunt.

On Wednesday, police said they'd charged a 20-year-old man with burglary, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and torture.

He is due to face the Wynnum Magistrates Court on Thursday.
