Queensland police hunting for rapist

Police are hunting a man who allegedly broke into a woman's home on the Sunshine Coast and raped her.

Police say Toby Michael Silvia, 26, broke into the home of his victim at around 4am on August 5 wearing a disguise and armed with a knife.

"It was obviously a very traumatic event for the woman," Detective Senior Sergeant Darren Edwards said.

It is alleged Silvia has since threatened the victim after she reported the assault to police.

The pair were known to each other through his work as a fruit picker.

He was last seen in the Glasshouse Mountains area last Wednesday and police are concerned he is seeking to flee interstate.

Police describe Silvia as Caucasian with a medium build, around 172cm tall with brown hair and eyes and are warning people not to approach him but call triple zero.
