Qld man who drove car into pool charged

A young Gold Coast man has been charged after he allegedly drove his car into a pool.

Police were called to Jacobs Well Rd at Pimpama about 8.30pm on Friday following reports a car had ploughed through a fence and into a private pool.

The driver allegedly fled on foot but was later arrested by officers.

An 18-year-old Ormeau man was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, drink driving and failing to comply with the duties of a driver involved in a crash.

He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on February 15.

The cost of the damage is yet to be finalised.
